IPM integrated pest management, fertilizer and soil erosion.

Updated: May 11, 2021

I don't use pest sprays or chemical fertilisers, I use chickens around the perimeter of my garden and rosters between the beds to add a little side dressing of the good stuff. I keep my breeder stock around to replenish my flock when I get a broody hen. And they are kept separate. People are always looking for a good home for their rooster, unless they are planning a stew for dinner. But I like the spacing between each bed and when I get several days of rain my grass spaces capture and filter out the soil and lock in all the nutrients. This idea was new for me and it goes against the normal method of growing hedge row to hedge row. Hoophouses are a different story as it is premium space. No money in walkways so I go vertical.
